Horny Toad

Livvy is really good at catching things.  Like this horny toad she decided to play with.  I am pretty sure there are worse things that could go on so as long that things heads on back outside, I will keep my thoughts to myself.

Tender Mercies

This isn't really something I should take picture of but I honestly it was so dang sweet and cute that I couldn't resist.  So grateful for the priesthood that we can have school blessings for the first day of school.  Mason really wanted in on the action.  How could you not??

Back to School

It is crazy how fast school came on us. Livvy is in 4th Grade, Cohen in 2nd and Coy starting Kindergarten.  3 kids in school now!  That's going to have to be an adjustment.

Cohen!  I love my Cohen so much!!  He is my oldest boy - biggest man.  Huge heart and he rocks the whole school thing.  He loves it so much and hates long periods of time where he thinks he is missing something to learn.  Kids flock to him like no other.  He's funny! He is going to rock Mrs. Lee's class no question!

Olivia is about as sweet as they come and it's not long before she is loved by her teacher Mrs. Crofts and Olivia loves her.  She says it's the best year yet!

This boy has my heart.  I had so many feelings about him starting Kindergarten.  Will kids be nice?  Will the teacher be supportive and sensitive?  Oh man.  The day I was dreading was on me way sooner than I thought.  I really had to put faith in my Heavenly Father for this one.  It worked. I had prepared him all I could with how to deal with all the questions people would have about his skin condition.  I had to leave it. And believe me, it was hard to walk away.  Coy isn't like any of my others in a way.  He is super social and he would rather laugh in the rain than run for cover. He is strong.  He knows who he is.  His heart is tender and his feelings are huge.  You can always find a friend in Coy.  I have faith in that.  He got the best teacher I could ever hope for.  Mrs. Parker.  She loved him and showed love to all her students.

One day I got a text from Mrs. Parker. It read, "True story... Today I was giving clues about the topic of a book we were going to read today about our shadow..clues like - it is something that follows - its wherever we go and can only be around when there is light.  McCoy raised his hand in absolute eagerness and answered "The Holy Ghost" with such conviction it warmed my heart!"  That is pretty much Coy in a nutshell.  He is close to the spirit and I know it and he knows it.

Tadpole Release

Once Jeremy felt on the mend, it was impossible for me to keep him down.  He was off to a conference somewhere and at least he was traveling with the Director of Nursing who promised to take care of him and not let him "overdo it."  So that left me and the kids for a few days before school started.  In the Spring, they collected tadpoles at Cottonwood.  Livvy religiously fed them in our little splash pool and tried to keep as many as she could out of the hands of little people and neighbor kids.  She actually succeeded pretty well so now they had watched the tadpoles grow legs and turn into toads Livvy knew they were ready to be free.
So the night before school started we bought some dinner and headed down to recapture.  The sky looked more and more threatening by the minute so we had to hurry and eat and release before we got soaked.

When Jeremy is gone, it's Cohen's job to bring the garbage to the road, but by the time we got home it was pouring.  He is always super good to do whatever is asked of him.  He is a good little man.  Then there's Livvy who was so excited about the rain had to play in it.  Why not, right?

Growing up!

Mason is 18 months and is pretty much our entertainment.  He's so funny and the kids love him.  He is talking lots more and making more sense than grunts and moans.  Love his tiny guts!
Did you think he would cry to get his 5 year old shots? NOPE!  He rocked that!

County Fair - Pig SALE!

Fair time!  I was not looking forward to the fair.  Mostly because I knew I had to do it by myself with lots of help from friends and Candice and Jed.  Jeremy was down and out.  But it was everything it always was.  So many people helped out with the pigs.  Cohen and Olivia did really well.  As long as Coy had a dollar in his pocket he was off buying all kinds of junk.  Popcorn, cotton candy and an endless supply of snow cones!

Stacy watched Mason a lot!  She brought him to the fair almost everyday.  He had plenty of treats too!  Palmer and Mason are about the cutest buddies ever.  You can see their friendship start to develop.

Olivia's pig was super friendly this year.  He let her sit on him all the time with not much resistance.  She loved this one.  As always, she had a hard time saying goodbye after he was sold.  Let's just say Cohen didn't.

Jeremy insisted he was fine to go and just sit and watch the auction.  Well, he wasn't.  By that night we were in the ER with bleeding... He has never been down quite like this before and it was hard for him to be down.

All the work, pain, joy, time, mud and poop... the year is finally over.  Coy is beyond excited to do his own pig next year.
