More Glitz

Before

So Livvy has been asking to get her ears pierced for a long time now. I was always kind of against it because I don't think she needs them but I finally gave in. Livvy wanted to get them done with her cousin Tayslee. Livvy LOVES them and didn't cry an ounce. She was super nervous and she wanted to sit on my lap while she got them. Tayslee, on the other hand, hated it. Lots of tears from mom and baby. But she looks so dang cute with them!

After

(Just before it was Livvy's turn on the chair an older girl around 20 was getting hers done. She cried and Livvy didn't. Livvy thinks that's all mixed up!)

After, we went to Pirate's Island. It is such a fun place but I don't think I will go there on a busy Saturday again. I felt like I was losing my mind! I even had Benita, JoLynne, and Noelle with me! (The balloon guy made Cohen and Maxon a sword. Need I say more?)

Livvy is sleeping on the floor in our room. I ask:
Mom: What is this all about?
Dad: She said she asked you and you said she could and she was real excited about it so I didn't fight her on it.
Mom: Hmm, I don't remember that at all. I am sure I just agreed to whatever she was saying.

During church Livvy leans over and whispers:
Livvy: Some people aren't married. They just like each other.
Mom: What do you mean?
Livvy: Like Stacy and Taylor. They aren't married. They can't have a kid because when they were moving it would be real annoying to have a baby.

Mom: Good job Baby!!
Cohen: I'm not a baby, but I guess you can call me one.

Cohen: I need a prize.
Mom: Sometimes when you are good you don't need a prize you just feel good inside and that's your prize.
Cohen: Uh, No. Go in that store right there and buy me something like a prize.

In the car listening to a beautiful Christmas song.
Livvy: Mom, sometimes pretty songs make us cry - but not a hurt cry right?
Mom: Yes. Livvy, are you crying?
Livvy: Yes, only a little. I like the part in the song where it talks about the heart.
Mom: You know what that feeling is? It's the spirit.
Livvy: Oh yes. I am thinking about Heavenly Father and Jesus right now.

Livvy: Mom, College is a special place, isn't it?
Mom: (confused) Sure. What makes you say that?
Livvy: It's a place where you find husbands and wives.
Mom: Well...Sorta. (?!?!?)
Livvy: I am excited to go to college. (again..?!?!?!)

Cohen was crying in Livvy's room because he wanted a costume on. So for the sake of peace I put a princess pink and purple dress on.
Cohen: Thanks mom. I am batman!
Mom: Really? I love it!
Cohen: I am not beautiful because this is a batman costume ok?
Mom: OK, I don't think you are a princess at all.
Cohen: It looks like a princess but I'm NOT! Tell Livvy OK?

Sometimes I forget that Olivia is big enough to understand what I talk about during Christmas. I was telling Benita that I can't find any Zhu-Zhu Pets. The #1 thing Olivia and the rest of the nation wants for Christmas.
Livvy: It's OK Mom. I wrote a letter to Santa and he will bring me one.
Mom: You did? What color did you draw it?
Livvy: Yeah, I colored it gray.
Mom: But what if Santa doesn't have a gray one?
Livvy: That's OK. I will like any color.
Mom: You won't be mad if I don't get you one?
Livvy: I could never be mad at you, mom. (Then she hugs me)
(Can I freeze this moment?)

Cohen: I love you mom.
Mom: I love you too baby.
Cohen: I'm not a baby, I'm a big boy.
Mom: Oh sorry. I love you big boy.
Cohen: No don't say it like that either, say big Cohen. Do it again. I love you mommy.
Mom: I love you big boy Cohen.
Cohen: No. Don't say that. Just Cohen. I love you mommy.
Mom: I love you Cohen.
Cohen: Yeah, like that. Thanks.

Holly gave Cohen a Buzz Lightyear for his birthday.
Cohen: OOOHH!! It's a little Buzz! Maxon has the big one.
Holly: Oh, do you want the big one?
Cohen: Yeah, these buttons don't do anything. I need Woody too. Actually all his buddies. You get them for me?

Cohen and Jeremy were walking past the isle with all the candy Cohen says, "Look at all this candy......It's beautiful!"

Monday morning while J is getting ready for work.
Cohen: It's Saturday today.
Dad: No, I have to go to work, it's Monday.
Cohen: NNOOOOO! I don't want you to go to work! It's Saturday!!!

Livvy: Mom, what are we going to do today?
Mom: I think we are going to stay home and have fun.
Livvy: OOOH! That's not fun, that's boring. I want to go to a friends house.
Mom: Well, I guess we should stay home more often so you can think it's fun to stay home too.
Livvy about ten minutes later: MOM!! It's so fun to stay home!!
Mom: Nice try, you still aren't going to a friends house today.

Cohen climbed in our bed at 6 something, and was really restless.
Dad: Cohen, no show, it's still night time.
Cohen: I need breakfast.
Dad: No.
Cohen: But I need to go downstairs.
Dad: Cohen STOP or go back to your room.
Cohen: I am not going to cuddle with you anymore.
Mom: (I couldn't help but bust up laughing)

It is a pretty rare occurrence when I can use the restroom without an audience but hey, at least I get a piece of chocolate for using the potty! Thanks Coco!

It is 9:30 in the a.m. and Cohen has had cereal, granola bar, 2 packages of fruit snacks, 100 calorie chocolate cookies and I told him no more. Now he's walking around saying, "it's been a hard day."

Mom: What? Why?
Cohen: Cause it looks real messy.

I was so tired that I sent the things outside in the backyard to play. I told Olivia to remember not to talk to strangers and she said, "Ok, I will just wave to them."

Livvy: Mom? Is the mailman true?
Mom: True? I don't understand.
Livvy: (big sigh) Like is he in this whole world we live in?
Mom: (I started dying laughing) Yes, Livvy. The mailman is real. He really mails all your letters. (that dang Easter bunny--who wore tennis shoes is really confusing her!!)

When J told Olivia that I wasn't going to Blanding the conversation went something like:
Livvy: But who is going to make her dinner?
Dad: She knows how to go through a drive-thru.
Livvy: Oh yeah, that's good.
(SERIOUSLY!! I do cook dinner!!! Sometimes!!!)

Mom opened the door to check on Cohen when he was sent to bed. He had his arms folded and said, "Get out! I am saying prayers!"

Livvy: Mom I know what fireworks mean. It means that they are on fire and they work!

During sacrament- Cohen: Dad, did you eat the bread?
Dad nodded.
Cohen: Let me see.
Dad: shook his head no.
Cohen: Come on dad, open up. (as he was prying his mouth open)
Dad:opened his mouth slightly.
Cohen peered in: Oh, good job. (with a pat on the back)

Mom: Livvy let's hurry and clean-up before Dad gets home.
Livvy: Well, Dad can do it because you're pregnant.

The Bishop and his family came over for dinner and during prayer while Cohen and Dad were saying it, Cohen stopped and pointed straight to the Bishop and yelled, "CLOSE YOUR EYES!" We were all laughing so hard we almost couldn't finish praying!

Cohen wanted to get into the shower so we turned it on for him. He got undressed and opened the door to the shower and said, "Nope, I don't want to get in there. It's too wet."

Cohen asked his dad to get him out an unbrella.
Dad: I don't think that's a good idea in the house.
Cohen: Oh, no it's not but that's OK!

I put Cohen to bed and he told me he wanted a truck so I gave him one. Then he said he wanted the ramp. I said he couldn't have it in his bed and then I told him I loved him and goodnight. To which he replied, "I don't want to say I love you right now!!"

Mom: Why did you go to timeout?
Cohen: 'Cause I hit Logan cause he had a bug on him.

Cohen: No because kisses are for girls. Go kiss Livvy.

Mom: Cohen let's go get breakfast.
Cohen: No. I want a snack.
Mom: After breakfast you can have a snack.
Cohen: No. Breakfast makes me sick, OK? So I just need a snack. Did you know that?

Livvy sang with the primary for the first time on Mother's Day. She was nervous to go up but I had to wipe a tear as her little face found me and she smiled. She didn't know the song she just stared at me and smiled.

I put Cohen in time out cause he hit.
Cohen: (screaming) It's not my fault. It's not my fault. It's not my fault. It's not my fault.
Mom: How is it not your fault?
Cohen: I don't know but it's not my fault and YOU'RE MEEEAN, mommy!

Olivia brought me her baby doll and asked me to tend. She said, "phew, babies are a lot of work. They have to do everything we do!"

Livvy says, "I don't believe in the Easter Bunny. He is a people!" (She saw his white tennis shoes under the bunny costume foot.)

Both kids were had a list of demands for breakfast and finally I said to Olivia : Hang on I only have 2 hands.
Livvy said: Cause your not an octopus?

Mom: A Little.
Cohen: Oh, (sigh) I'm sad too. You miss daddy too? Don't be sad, daddy will come home soon. k?

Livvy: Mom what are we doing today?
Mom: Anything you like, what do you think?
Livvy: Let's go get that baby out.

(Livvy was downstairs coloring and I told her she had to clean her room before she helped me wash baseboards. )
Livvy: Mom, I cleaned my room and now I can help you clean.
Mom: Livvy, is that a lie?
Livvy: (while nodding her head) It just sounded like it.
Mom: Well, what did you mean to say?
Livvy: I am going to clean my room.

Mom: Livvy look at my belly! It's big!
Livvy: Whoa! Are you afraid it's going to pop?

He did it. It took several attempts from the time he could walk but he finally made it all the way up to the pulpit during testimony meeting. I didn't think he would and he's had several close calls but rest assured he has now done it so hopefully he can check that off his list now.

Livvy: Mom you can't handle three kids and a dog.
Mom: That's why I need a big helper. Do you think you can be my big helper?
Livvy: That's a good idea cause I KNOW you just can't handle it!!

FHE - teaching about missionaries and what they do. Livvy says, "You mean some people don't know about Heavenly Father and ALL the meetings?"

After several attempts to make Cohen lunch I gave him a choice. Noodles of nothing. He sat for a moment and then yelled "NOTHING!!"

At Josh's missionary farewell luncheon Livvy asked me about all the older people coming in and if they were my dad or grandpa. J's grandpa came in and I explained to Olivia who he was and she went running over to him and stared up at him and when he noticed her she said, "I know how to make my bed and I have a dog." Very important facts.

I made muffins for breakfast. Livvy wanted to lick the bowl. A few minutes later I heard her in the kitchen talking, "I just can't stop licking cause it's soo good!"

A commercial was on about elderly people using motorized wheelchairs and Livvy said, "mom, when you can't walk I will take you to the Dr and get one of those, K?" I told her not to count me out yet.
